Med-Peds Physician – UCSF Health Primary Care Clinics
Location: San Mateo, CA
Position Type: Full-Time or Some Part-Time Options Available

Compensation and Benefits:
- First-year guaranteed total cash compensation (salary + incentive): $319,000

Schedule and Work-Life Balance:
- Full-time schedule with 32 patient clinical hours per week (4-day clinical work week possible)
- Flexible scheduling, including 8 hours of self-scheduled administrative time per week
- Minimal on-call responsibilities: Med-Peds calls are triaged by nursing staff with pooled on-call obligations only a few times per year
- Generous time off, including:
- 18 days of vacation
- 14 paid holidays
- 12 days of sick leave annually
- 5 days of CME leave with a $2,500 annual allowance
Patient Care Focus:
- New patient appointments are 40 minutes and follow-ups are 20 minutes
- Manageable patient volume: 16–18 patients per day
- Emphasis on personalized and comprehensive care with flexibility for extended visits when necessary
- Collaborative care model supported by nursing staff and social workers
- Referrals managed through a centralized referral system (in development) for streamlined specialist access
Growth and Professional Development:
- Collaborative team of approximately 6 physicians, including Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, Med-Peds, and Pediatrics
- Opportunities for physicians to engage in leadership, teaching, and community outreach roles
Qualifications:
- Current California medical license (MD or DO) by start date
- Board certification or eligibility in Internal Medicine-Pediatrics with a commitment to becoming certified
