Evaluate elderly patients for mood, cognitive, and psychotic disorders, prescribe and manage psychiatric medications and provide supportive therapy or behavioral interventions tailored to older adults. Collaborate with primary care physicians, neurologists, therapists, and family members while coordinating referrals and ensuring continuity of care. Monitor progress, manage comorbidities, educate patients and caregivers and advocate for compassionate, evidence-based geriatric mental health treatment.
Required education/experience: Medical Degree; 48 months Psychiatry Residency training; Valid VA Medical License.
