Employer

Presbyterian

Presbyterian is New Mexico's own not-for-profit health system, locally owned and operated since 1908. What began as a small tuberculosis sanatorium in Albuquerque has grown into nine hospitals, a medical group of more than 900 providers and a statewide health plan. Together they care for, or provide coverage to, about one in three New Mexicans.

Physicians and advanced practice clinicians, including nurse practitioners, physician assistants and nurse-midwives, practice across the state, from Albuquerque, Rio Rancho and Santa Fe to close-knit communities like Clovis, Española, Ruidoso, Socorro and Tucumcari. Whether you want a busy metro practice or small-town medicine, there's room to find your fit.

Care at Presbyterian is team-based. Pharmacists, nurse practitioners and behavioral health specialists work alongside you, so your patients stay covered when you're away, and one shared electronic health record connects every Presbyterian hospital and clinic. That teamwork shows in the results: Presbyterian Hospital is the only hospital in New Mexico to earn the American College of Cardiology's 2025 Platinum award for heart attack care.

Presbyterian also invests in the people who provide that care. Benefits begin on day one and include a 403(b) with employer matching, a 457(b) plan for physicians and a continuing medical education allowance for providers working 0.45 FTE or more. As a nonprofit, Presbyterian qualifies for Public Service Loan Forgiveness, and many positions are eligible for New Mexico and federal loan repayment programs.

Life in New Mexico is a draw of its own. The state offers no-cost child care and tuition-free public college for residents, along with year-round sunshine, skiing, hiking and fly-fishing, and a rich blend of Indigenous and Hispanic culture you won't find anywhere else.
