Preferred Qualifications

Role Purpose

Manages acute and chronic illnesses, performs assessments, procedures, interprets diagnostic studies, and initiates treatment plans both within an ambulatory practice and in a hospital setting within the scope of a given procedural specialty (i.e., Cardiology, Vascular Surgery, Ortho, and Post-Acute). Navigates high-acuity cases within the scope of a formal physician collaborative practice agreement.

Responsibilities

Manages the health care of patient populations with compassion in specialty services such as Cardiology, Vascular Surgery, Orthopedics and Post-Acute in the hospital, skilled nursing and clinic settings where procedures, prescriptive services, rounding and call obligations are expected.Maintains and exhibits knowledge of specialty-specific pathophysiology, hospital protocols, regulatory requirements, and communication skills to support patient education under the general medical direction of the collaborating physician.Develops treatment plans, treats patients with acute problems including illnesses and injuries under the general medical direction of the collaborating physician.Responsible for hospital patient rounding and being on-call for inpatient services, ambulatory follow-up, and medical management of patients.Participates in professional developmentBJC has determined this is a safety-sensitive position. The ability to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner is an essential function of this job.Minimum Requirements
