- $220,000 base salary
- $50,000 sign on bonus
- $35k housing allowance
Requirements
- Family Practice/Internal Medicine/DO Physicians with experience preferred BUT will consider New Grads
- Board Eligible or Certified required
- Must be able to work independently
- 40 hour work week (4 day work weeks are available)
- No call
- 20-25 patient volume per typical day
- 4-6 weeks paid vacation plus 5 sick days, one week paid for CME and hospital holidays per calendar year

Down East Community Hospital is a 25-bed critical access hospital in Machias, Maine, offering state-of-the-art technology and specialty services almost unheard of in a small rural hospital. We serve our immediate community in Machias and all of Washington County — Maine's Sunrise County — bordered by New Brunswick to the northeast and the Bay of Fundy.
Founded by a group of dedicated citizens and opened in 1964, DECH has grown into an integral part of the region, providing inpatient and outpatient medical, surgical and emergency services. Alongside primary care — Family Practice, Pediatrics and Obstetrics/Gynecology — we offer Podiatry, Urology, Otolaryngology (ENT), General Surgery including minimally invasive laparoscopic surgery, Orthopedics, Neurology and Pain Medicine. Our Emergency Department was expanded in 2017 to nine private rooms, and our practices serve patients in Machias, East Machias, Jonesport and Milbridge.
