UCSF Fresno Medical Education Program and Central California Faculty Medical Group (CCFMG), dba Inspire Health, are recruiting for academic general pediatric faculty at the Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor rank. The successful candidate must have completed a pediatric residency, be board-certified or eligible in pediatrics, and eligible for/hold a current CA medical license at the time of appointment. The responsibilities include teaching residents and students in ambulatory settings and covering a busy newborn service. Bilingual Spanish/English is desirable but not required. Interest or experience in patient-based research and/or quality improvement is advantageous. Academic rank and salary will be consistent with the successful candidate’s professional background. The UCSF Fresno Medical Education Program sees patients in a Regional Medical Center and has successful faculty practice sites.

The program is based in Fresno, California, where residents enjoy a high standard of living combined with a low cost of living. The result is a quality of life uniquely Californian, yet surprisingly affordable. Limitless recreational opportunities and spectacular scenery are all accessible in a community with abundant, affordable housing. While there is much to see and do in Fresno, the city is ideally located for fast, convenient getaways to the majestic Sierra (just 90 minutes away) and the scenic Central Coast, just two and a half hours away. Fresno is the only major city in the country with proximity to three national parks, including the renowned Yosemite National Park.

For positions exclusively funded by the affiliate organization, Inspire Health provided a reasonable salary estimate for this position of $180,000-$235,000.

Inspire Health

Inspire Health Medical Group (Central California Faculty Medical Group) is the faculty medical group of UCSF Fresno and one of the largest multispecialty medical groups in California's Central Valley. More than 300 physicians and 90 advanced practice providers practice across more than 85 medical specialties and subspecialties, caring for patients throughout Fresno, Clovis and the surrounding region while teaching the next generation of physicians.

Inspire Health physicians serve as UCSF Fresno faculty, practicing and teaching students, residents and fellows at Community Regional Medical Center — the only Level 1 Trauma Center and Burn Center serving multiple counties in Central California — as well as Clovis Community Medical Center, community behavioral health programs and Inspire Health's own outpatient practices. UCSF Fresno is home to residency and fellowship programs in all the major medical specialties, including an emergency medicine residency founded in 1974, giving clinicians the opportunity to combine patient care with teaching, research and leadership in an academic environment that still feels like a community.

Providers enjoy competitive compensation, full benefits including 401(k) match, paid time off, malpractice coverage and CME allowances, along with relocation assistance for many positions.

Fresno offers a relatively low cost of living compared with many other California cities, culturally vibrant and diverse communities, excellent schools, and year-round sunshine. It is the only major city in the country close to three national parks — Yosemite, Sequoia and Kings Canyon — with the Sierra Nevada about an hour away, the Central Coast within two and a half hours, and convenient access to San Francisco, Los Angeles and Sacramento.
