The University of California, San Francisco Fresno Medical Education Program (UCSF Fresno), Central California Faculty Medical Group (CCFMG), dba Inspire Health and Community Regional Medical Center (CRMC) are seeking candidates for full or part-time faculty positions in General Adult Psychiatry. We are recruiting for hospital and outpatient positions working with CRMC, the Fresno County Department of Behavioral Health and/or the faculty practice site. Candidates must be board certified or board eligible in psychiatry (American Board of Psychiatry & Neurology) by the date of hire. California licensed or eligibility to obtain a California license by the date of hire is required. CRMC and the Fresno County Department of Behavioral Health are core training sites for the UCSF Fresno Psychiatry Residency Program, along with numerous other specialties. Faculty appointment with UCSF will be commensurate with the candidate’s skills and experience. With a faculty appointment, supervision and teaching of both medical students and residents will be expected.

The program is based in Fresno, California, a city that combines a high standard of living with a low cost of living. The result is a quality of life uniquely Californian, yet surprisingly affordable. Limitless recreational opportunities and spectacular scenery are accessible in a community with abundant affordable housing. While there is much to see and do in Fresno, the city is ideally located for fast, convenient getaways to the majestic Sierra (just 90 minutes away) as well as the scenic Central Coast, (just 2 1/2 hours away). Fresno is the only major city in the country with close proximity to three national parks, including the renowned Yosemite National Park. Fresno is uniquely placed within a short drive of both San Francisco (just 3 hours away) and Los Angeles (just 3 1/2 hours away), making it easy to enjoy the art, food, and nightlife that both cities have to offer.

For positions exclusively funded by the affiliate organization: Inspire Health provided a reasonable salary estimate for this position $320,000-$385,000

Inspire Health

Inspire Health Medical Group (Central California Faculty Medical Group) is the faculty medical group of UCSF Fresno and one of the largest multispecialty medical groups in California's Central Valley. More than 300 physicians and 90 advanced practice providers practice across more than 85 medical specialties and subspecialties, caring for patients throughout Fresno, Clovis and the surrounding region while teaching the next generation of physicians.

Inspire Health physicians serve as UCSF Fresno faculty, practicing and teaching students, residents and fellows at Community Regional Medical Center — the only Level 1 Trauma Center and Burn Center serving multiple counties in Central California — as well as Clovis Community Medical Center, community behavioral health programs and Inspire Health's own outpatient practices. UCSF Fresno is home to residency and fellowship programs in all the major medical specialties, including an emergency medicine residency founded in 1974, giving clinicians the opportunity to combine patient care with teaching, research and leadership in an academic environment that still feels like a community.

Providers enjoy competitive compensation, full benefits including 401(k) match, paid time off, malpractice coverage and CME allowances, along with relocation assistance for many positions.

Fresno offers a relatively low cost of living compared with many other California cities, culturally vibrant and diverse communities, excellent schools, and year-round sunshine. It is the only major city in the country close to three national parks — Yosemite, Sequoia and Kings Canyon — with the Sierra Nevada about an hour away, the Central Coast within two and a half hours, and convenient access to San Francisco, Los Angeles and Sacramento.
