Neurology Physician Assistant - No Call, No Weekends - Lynchburg

• Pay: $130,000 per year

About the Practice

CMG Brain and Spine are expanding! As we begin to rebuild our Neuroendovascular program (previously Neurointerventional) we are seeking a skilled and motivated Advanced Practice Provider (Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant). This APP will play a key role in the care of patients with complex cerebrovascular and neurovascular conditions across the continuum of care.

This position offers the opportunity to work in a high-acuity, procedure-driven specialty alongside fellowship-trained Neuroendovascular surgeons in a collaborative, team-based environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Evaluate, diagnose, and manage patients with cerebrovascular and neurovascular conditions (e.g., ischemic stroke, intracranial aneurysms, AVMs, carotid disease)
• Provide inpatient care including:
• Pre- and post-procedural assessments
• Daily rounding in ICU and step-down units
• Coordination of care with neurology, neurosurgery, critical care, and nursing teams
• Assist with neurointerventional procedures as appropriate such as lumbar puncture, blood patch, myelogram (non-invasive procedures)
• Participate in stroke alerts
• Order and interpret diagnostic tests and imaging
• Educate patients and families regarding diagnosis, treatment plans, and follow-up care
• Document care in the electronic medical record in a timely and accurate manner

About the Role

• Monday – Friday 8am – 5pm
• No call
• Inpatient setting
• Opportunity to assist in cases once clinical orientation is complete
• Assisting during stroke code
• Tailored onboarding and learning opportunities
• Previous experience in Neuro ICU or ER preferred

About the Unit

• Primary Stroke – Thrombectomy capable
• Level II Trauma Center
• 18 bed neuro-ICU
• Neuro step down unit
• 2 full-time Neuroendovascular Physicians

Qualifications

Required Education: Masters Degree from an accredited Physician Assistant School

Required Certifications and Licensures: Current licensure by the State of Virginia as a Physician Assistant ACLS (required only for LFM)
