MUSC is the premier tertiary referral center and academic teaching hospital in South Carolina. The Shawn Jenkins Children’s Hospital opened in 2020 and is a 250-bed facility with a full range of pediatric medical and surgical subspecialties overlooking the Ashley River.

The Division is an active participant in clinical trials through the Children’s Oncology Group, Beat Childhood Cancer, the Pediatric Transplantation & Cellular Therapy Consortium, and BMT-CTN. We also maintain a dynamic portfolio of industry-related oncology, hematology, and sickle cell clinical trials including gene therapy. The Division collaborates closely with Hollings Cancer Center, MUSC’s NCI designated cancer center, as well as the Darby Clinical Research Institute.
