Patients chat with Counsel's medical AI and can bring a real Counsel physician into any conversation with a single click. Counsel doctors provide care across acute, primary and longevity medicine: diagnosing and treating, refilling medications, reviewing labs and wearable data, and navigating patients to the right next step. Care is delivered through asynchronous, messaging-based visits in Counsel's own custom-built, AI-paired EHR.

Counsel's clinicians practice with AI as a sharp colleague that has already read the chart: it preps the history, sharpens the differential and drafts the message, so the physician's judgment gets their full attention. The company's guiding principle is "clinicians first, technologists second," and physicians help shape the tools they practice in.

Founded in 2023 by Dr. Muthu Alagappan and headquartered in New York's Flatiron district, Counsel has raised more than $35 million from a16z, Google Ventures, Pear VC and other leading investors. The team brings together expertise in medicine (Harvard, Mount Sinai, Mass General, UCSF) and technology (MIT, Google, DeepMind, NVIDIA, Stripe, Meta).

Physician roles are fully remote, with full-time W2, part-time and evening/weekend options.
